Who can resist the innocent charms of puppies and kittens? They’re soooooo cute, we can’t help but say “Awwwww. . . “
There were plenty of puppies at the New York premiere of Darling Companion, a movie starring Diane Keaton and Kevin Kline.
(Keaton’s character adopts a lost dog and names him Freeway. She’s mightily miffed when her husband, played by Kline, lets the dog run away.)
The movie’s web site has links to several U.S. animal rescue organizations.
“Mobile adoption events” were held at several premieres, including the New York one. The premiere was hosted by Beth Ostrosky Stern, wife of the loudmouth radio guy; the dogs came from the North Shore Animal League.
Imagine that, a person goes to the cinema for a film and comes home with a new family member.
